Go Down The Rabbit Hole With Us 🐇✨ Immerse The Bay 2025 was honestly one of the best weekends ever!!!

Maps are excellent at proving you have reached a coordinate. They are less helpful when the actual destination is a hidden entrance, the right floor, a booth inside a convention hall, or the one door that does not look like the door.

Our team treated arrival as a spatial communication problem. What information would make the final few minutes obvious? What could a host leave behind for a visitor? The hackathon forced us to answer with a working prototype instead of a deck. Thirty-six hours later, we were tired, slightly attached to the room, and convinced the last mile deserves much better design.

just wrapped one of the wildest 36-hour hackathons ever and i swear… I kinda didn’t want to leave that room lol.

Our team of 3 "We Will Take You There" built a working prototype for a very real problem. Maps take you to an address, not the actual place you need.

there wasn’t even a Snap track at the hackathon… we just did it for fun, challenged ourselves, and somehow shipped our first Spectacles app. thank you Jing Ye and Light Liu for being the best teammates ever. the coordination was unreal and we learned a ridiculous amount in 36 hours.

What We Built we used Snap’s Custom Location Lens inside Lens Studio to record a walking path in AR using Spectacles. - you walk with the glasses and the system: - tracks your indoor position - drops spatial waypoints along your exact route - lets you pinch objects to reveal fun facts - captures every turn, hallway, hidden corner - and shows a tiny hologram guide that retraces the same path back

this can work for museums, universities, airports, big cities, concerts, stadiums, hotels, airbnbs, even everyday “where did i park?” moments.

How We Built It

- with 36 hours time - too much coffee - hunger to learn and just good vibes along

none of us used Lens Studio before (the editor is literally a wannabe unity editor and we were laughing through half of it 😂). we used the Spectacles Interaction Kit, Custom Location Lens, world anchors, spatial storage, UI scripting, and a little hologram character that follows the recorded path.

Huge Thank You!! Steven Le and Francis Chen from Snap were absolute legends. we would not have finished without you both. thank you for answering every question we threw at you.

How it Started friday noon workshops by Snap AR, Raven, ByteDance, OpenBCI and more. lots of ideation + swapping ideas until we locked in our direction.

How it Ended we tried the Raven prototype, the XREAL glasses, the PICO headsets… we hacked from friday 21:00 to monday 5:30 (we spared 4 hours before deadline).

What I remember most is the shift from an idea in my head to something another person could actually touch. Shipping makes the questions sharper, the feedback more honest, and the next version much easier to imagine.
